Take a walk through a timeline of your wedding day at Sandhole Oak Barn.
The timeline below is based on a wedding ceremony starting at 2pm, giving you an idea of how your special day could unfold. Every wedding is unique, and timings may vary from couple to couple. Please speak to our Events Team for a personalised guide to your day, tailored to your ceremony time, chosen package and guest numbers.
9am-10am –
Let the preparations begin
Start your wedding day at 9am in The Granary Dressing Room and your additional preparation space, with plenty of room for your wedding party, hair and make-up artists and those all-important finishing touches. Enjoy a relaxed morning together with delicious grazing boards and refreshments as the excitement builds.
12pm –
Your exclusive celebration begins
With Sandhole Oak Barn exclusively yours, the final preparations begin as your guests arrive and settle into the surroundings. The team will be on hand to welcome everyone, with the bar ready to serve drinks ahead of your ceremony.
1.45pm –
Take your seats
It’s nearly time! Your guests will be invited to take their seats in the Ceremony Barn or make their way to the Clock Tower for an outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake.
1.45pm –
A moment with your registrar
Before the ceremony, you’ll each have a brief, separate meeting with your registrar to confirm the final details. Then it’s time to take a breath and prepare for the moment you’ve been waiting for.
2pm –
Say ‘I do’
Surrounded by your favourite people, it’s time to exchange vows and begin your next chapter together. Whether you choose the light-filled Ceremony Barn or the beautiful lakeside Clock Tower, it’s a moment to remember.
2.30pm –
Raise a glass
Celebrate your newly married status with drinks and canapés on the verandah, with beautiful views across the lake and Cheshire countryside. Mingle with your guests, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy your first moments together as a married couple.
3pm –
Capture the memories
Take some time with your photographer to explore the beautiful grounds, lakeside views and countryside surroundings. From romantic portraits by the water to candid moments with family and friends, there are plenty of opportunities to capture memories you’ll treasure forever.
4pm –
Gather for your wedding breakfast
Make your way into the Dining Barn for a delicious wedding breakfast. Whether you picture relaxed sharing boards, a beautifully presented meal or something a little different, your dining experience can be tailored to suit your celebration.
6.30pm –
Time for a few words
Raise a glass to the happy couple and share a few words with your nearest and dearest. Speeches can take place before or after your wedding breakfast, leaving you free to plan the flow of your celebrations. Afterwards, enjoy a drink on the verandah or in the bar while your evening guests prepare to join you.
7.30pm –
Let the evening celebrations begin
Welcome your evening guests as the celebrations continue. With the bar open and the atmosphere building, it’s time to bring everyone together for another memorable part of your wedding day.
8pm –
First dance and celebrations
Gather your guests for the cake cutting and your first dance as a married couple. Then it’s time to hit the dance floor, enjoy your favourite music and celebrate with the people who mean the most to you.
8.30pm –
Delicious evening food
Keep everyone fuelled for the celebrations with something delicious to eat. From wood-fired pizzas and barbecue favourites to freshly prepared wok dishes, Sandhole’s outdoor catering options bring a relaxed, sociable feel to your evening. Depending on your arrangements and the weather, enjoy the food outside or indoors.
11.45pm –
One last drink
As the evening draws to a close, the bar will call last orders at 11.45pm, with the bar and music finishing at midnight. Make the most of those final moments on the dance floor before winding down with friends and family.
12.30am –
Time to say goodnight
Guests who aren’t staying overnight are asked to leave the venue by 12.30am. We recommend arranging taxis in advance so everyone can enjoy a relaxed journey home.
The following day
8–9.30am –
Breakfast together
Wake up at Sandhole and enjoy breakfast with those staying overnight. It’s the perfect opportunity to relive the highlights, share stories and ease into the morning after your celebrations.
10am –
Time to say goodbye
After a wonderful celebration, it’s time to gather your belongings, say your goodbyes and head home with memories to last a lifetime. We wish you every happiness as you begin married life together!
